British fighter Georgia O’Connor has sadly passed away at 25 years old, following a brave battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.
O’Connor had recently been hospitalized for her illness and the boxing world supported her unconditionally, however, she was unfortunately unable to win this fight.
In professional boxing, she had a short but successful career, turning pro in 2021, earning victories over Ester Konecna, Erica Juana Gabriela Álvarez, and Joyce Van.
Georgia was a promising prospect with a 3-0 record and multiple amateur junior medal winner. She was a five-time English national and Commonwealth champion, and a two-time world and European champion.
The World Boxing Council and its President, Mauricio Sulaimán, mourn Georgia’s passing, sending their deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Rest in Peace Georgia.
