
Former boxer Max Hebeisen has died at the age of 75, after battling Alzheimer’s for several years.
Hebeisen won several Swiss welterweight championship titles as an amateur. In 1968 he finished ninth in his category at the Olympic Games in Mexico. As a professional boxer, Hebeisen had 37 wins, five losses and one draw and as a trainer, he was the right hand of Swiss boxing legend Charly Bühler.
The WBC family and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, are deeply saddened by this irreparable loss, and send our deepest condolences to the champion’s family and friends.
