The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, as well as boxing in general, mourn the death of the Italian fighter Angelo Rottoli.
Angelo, former Italian, international and European champion of the WBC (cruiserweight and heavyweight), died yesterday in Bergamo, Italy, at the age of 61, victim of the Coronavirus Covid-19.
An even more painful tragedy due to the fact that in the last two weeks, Angelo had also lost his mother and brother, both to the same illness.
Angelo disputed the WBC green and gold crown against Carlos De León, a fight that could not end as an injury prevented him.
Bergamo, a city near Milan where Rottoli was from, has been hit dramatically by the Coronavirus.
Rest in Peace dear champion!
