Sampson Boxing proudly announces that they have signed promising Argentine middleweight prospect Walter Ezequiel Matthysse Jr. with a multi-year co-promotion contract, alongside Argentina-based Tello Box.
Walter aged 21, is the nephew of two-time world champion Lucas Matthysse and the son of former world title challenger Walter Matthysse. Decorated fan in his native Argentina, Matthysse started boxing at age 11 and has an excellent amateur record of 59-3-1 (30 KOs).
Walter Matthysse will turn professional in Argentina upon concluding the pandemic with the goal of becoming the new star in the Premier Boxing Champions live boxing television series in the United States.
“I am very happy and proud that Sampson Boxing has noticed me and I promise to do my best in this new stage of my career,” said young Matthysse.
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz commented: “As soon as the pandemic allows, Walter Jr. will make his live professional debut at TyC Sports in Argentina.
