My Word! Andre Ward, a former two-division champion who was once ranked the best pound-for-pound fighter, will continue to be an analyst at ESPN, contributing to all of the organization’s platforms.
“We are delighted to have renewed our agreement with Andre,” said Mark Gross, ESPN vice president of production and events. “Andre has shown that his experience in the ring and his deep knowledge and passion for boxing to enrich our lives via boxing coverage. His contributions to boxing on other platforms and shows also create a truly unique perspective on the sport for fans.”
Andre commented: “I have been fortunate to work alongside some of the best in the business. I have had many mentors who have contributed to my growth over the years. I have some specific goals when I’m behind the mic. Opportunities are limited in the sports media arena and I am grateful for the seat that I can be in at ESPN.”
In addition to his work as a front-row analyst for live boxing events, Andre also hosts two shows on ESPN +: Ring Science with Andre Ward, which debuted in April 2019 and features an in-depth analysis of the styles; and Unguarded, in which Ward interviews the best fighters in amazing one-on-one conversations.
