Puerto Rican lightweight contender Félix “El Diamante” Verdejo, will fight Japan`s Masayoshi Nakatani, in a ten rounds bout, this Saturday, December 12, in the “Bubble” of the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight, which is promoted by Top Rank, will be broadcast on ESPN. Verdejo (27-1, 17 KOs), a 2012 Olympian, is a contender seeking a world title shot in a talent-filled category. He has won four fights since a loss in March 2018 to Antonio Lozada Jr., and in his most recent fight he knocked out previously undefeated Will Madera.
Nakatani (18-1, 12 KOs), from Osaka, Japan, is a former OPBF lightweight champion, who made his United States debut on July 19, 2019. That night, he put up a good fight, really testing Teofimo López.
