Urvashi Singh – A boxer of note

Urvashi Singh, a Professional Boxer from India is Middle East Asia Female World Title Champion and now holds the WBC International World title.

As an amateur she held the gold  Youth Women Championship Medal, the Inter College Boxing Champion and All India University Championship.

Born in a country where women fight for recognition, when she started training at Roshan Boxing Academy Urvashi sparred men. She did this secretly,  without the knowledge of her parents, being encouraged and nurtured by Nathanial Roshan to become the champion she is today.

Uvshi uses her platform and popularity in boxing to send empowering messages to young women and children.

” I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have the support of so many boxing fans of India. While it places and exerts a lot of pressure on me to perform better inside the ring, it also gives me great honour to represent my country.”

WBC Cares has recently made Urvashi Singh a WBC Ambassador of Women Empowerment in India. We are very proud of her and her team for accomplishing so much, for being an inspiration to others, as well as her  championship skills as an athlete.
