The winners of the National Popular Games in the Port of Acapulco at the beginning of September are key components of bi-lateral friendship and cooperation.
Gold medalist Moises Yoav Rodríguez and the bronze medalist Josué Ramsés Ávila are a shining example of the success of this venture in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 2N1D project organized boxing training given by professional trainers and world champions, motivational talks, psychological help, nutrition talks and oral health among other activities with the intention of guiding these young athletes through their first steps in boxing.
The project encompassed three original groups: Chicago, Acapulco, CDMX and culminated in a contest between the CDMX and Acapulco boxers who then competed against Chicago with the best bouts taking place at the Mexico City Zocalo as part of Mariana Juárez vs Catherin Phiri.
The fruits of the 2N1D project have grown with young boxers Moisés Yoav Rodríguez and Josué Ramsés Avila. Also, David Picasso has become a great prospect in professional boxing by having a 10-0 record; as well as the young boxer Stephanie Martinez who is still fighting as amateurand yet plans to turn pro soon.
