Irish Katie Taylor and Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano will have their third fight on July 11, back at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Taylor, who has won their two previous battles by close decisions, wrote on her social media account: “Excited to be headlining at The Garden again on July 11 for the trilogy live on Netflix.”
Serrano, on hers, wrote: “Here we go once again! The trilogy! On July 11 on the best network Netflix we give the fans another one! Taylor-Serrano III, the first trilogy in women’s boxing live in the Mecca at the Garden, the stage of Taylor-Serrano I. I come to do what I always do, give it my all. Hopefully the judges get things right, although I have other intentions this time!”
Taylor has a record of 24-1 (6 KOs) and is the undisputed super lightweight champion. She and Serrano, who lives in Brooklyn, set records for the first time by selling out Madison Square Garden for their first meeting, a fight of the year contender, in April 2022. Taylor, 38, won by split decision.
In October 2024, they fought again in Dallas, Texas, on the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul undercard, and set more records when Taylor won a unanimous decision by one point on all the judges’ scorecards.
