Today Shields vs. Dicaire for super welterweight supremacy

Today, Friday March 5, is a day that will forever mark the history, not only of women’s boxing, but of our sport, in a confrontation between two great world champions, Claressa “T-Rex” Shields and IBF Super Welterweight Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire. 

If she wins, Shields will become the first athlete (male or female) to be crowned the undisputed world champion in two different weight divisions.

Salita Promotions has put together an extraordinary undercard of women’s fights, including a rematch for the WBC silver heavyweight title between Danielle Perkins (2-0, 1 KO) and Monika Harrison (2-1, 1KO).

In order to continue supporting the great legacy of women’s boxing, the World Boxing Council will carry out the live broadcast of this great card, through its WBC Channel platform in alliance with VIVE Network. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the WBC and VIVE Network have been looking for alternatives to bring these types of cards to fans around the world, supporting the enormous effort and creativity of promoters to continue performing boxing in such difficult circumstances.
