Tina “Tinny Tina” Rupprecht will face Japan’s Sumire Yamanaka in Germany for the unification of the WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA atomweight titles.
Rupprecht is an old hand at the WBC belts, winning her first belt, WBC silver straw in 2016.
She twice defended the WBC interim straw belt until she won the WBC world straw in 2018 by defeating Niorkis “Bachaca” Carreno by unanimous decision; but after four successful defenses, she was defeated by American Seniesa Estrada.
After the defeat, the German moved down a division to fight for the WBC atomweight world title. She defeated the Czech Fabiana Bytyqi to become the champion of the division.
The Japanese boxer, who is still undefeated and holds the IBF world title, will try to win the titles held by her rival.
The bout will take place on April 5 at the MBS Arena in Potsdam, Germany.
