Undefeated middleweight champions Claressa Shields and Christina Hammer spent all Thursday afternoon giving back to the Atlantic City community, as they met local youth from New Jersey’s Give A Kid A Dream and boxing program Girls in Gloves at the PAL gym in Atlantic City.
They spoke with attendees about hard work, following their dreams and… never giving up.
The combatants of the main event were also joined by the mayor of Atlantic City, Frank Gilliam, and other local representatives.
Shields fights Hammer to unify the middleweight this Saturday night, on April 13 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City live on SHOWTIME. (9:10 pm ET / PT).
The winner will become the second undisputed champion in the history of women’s boxing and only in the sixth fighter, male & female, to unify the four recognized world titles.
