Today the World Boxing Council, led by President Mauricio Sulaimán, and President of WBC Cares Mexico, Christiane Manzur, applauded the most important person in the whole wide World…Mum!
The boxing family gathered at the Sports & Chips Restaurant located in the south of Mexico City to commemorate, revere and cheer Mother’s Day. No one works harder than Mum!
Mauricio Sulaimán especially congratulated all the champions and mother fighters who climb into the ring with the firm intention of getting the very best for their families. He said he`s so very proud to have such such ambassadors and also thanked them for their loyalty, because thanks to the joint work with the fighters, women’s boxing has grown up and matured.
For the wisest words on why Mum is The One. The Stars, The Moon and The Sun!

I greatly admire all my colleagues who are mothers and fighters. The work they carry out is not easy at all and the strength and dedication with which they carry out both activities is worthy of being admired, valued and respected. Congratulations to all.

We champion moms prove to be warriors, we teach by example. My little girl has been by my side my entire career. With all my affection and love I have tried to form a little warrior. Thank you very much to all the mommies and never stop dreaming.

I am a proud mother of a baby girl. Together with my colleagues we have worked very hard so that all women are respected. I work and I will continue doing so for my daughter. I want to be a world champion again and give my daughter that happiness.

Christiane Manzur.
First of all, I would like to remember and congratulate Doña Martha, an exemplary mother and woman who has raised a great family to be good people. I want to tell our champions that at WBC Cares, we are very proud of you and we deeply thankful for everything you do for our society. You inspire millions and you are the real life heroes of many young women who dream of breaking paradigms.
To close, Christiane Manzur dedicated an emotional poem to all mothers.
“I am a mother, I am not perfect, but I am not the worst of all
I am the one who can, the one that comes out, the one who loves unconditionally.
The one who loses patience, the one who doesn’t want them to grow up so fast.
The one who feels guilty, the one who is willing to learn from her children
The one who listens demands and needs solitude
The one that gets tired of the demand, the one that is questioned, the one that is reviewed
The one who asks for forgiveness, the one who wants to enjoy them more
The one who would like to turn back time to do things differently
The one that tries to accompany, the one that tries to repair
The one that chooses to be present, the one that intends to evolve
I am the mom that I can be
Far from conforming I try to be better
Let’s not punish ourselves let’s be loving with ourselves and other mothers
We do our best every day
They don’t need us perfect, they need us human
