We have very sad news in the world of boxing. Former European champion, Frenchman Patrice Aouissi, has died.
Patrice, who was a former European professional light heavyweight champion, passed away on Saturday, July 8 at the age of just 57, the victim of a stroke.
He was a French amateur light heavyweight champion in 1990, before being eighth finalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a gold medalist at the Mediterranean Games and then a member of the famous French boxing team PSG; he was also a world title challenger and had a successful career, becoming one of the favorite fighters of the French fans.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman, send our deepest condolences to the family and many friends of champion Patrice.
Rest in peace Champion. You will not be forgotten.
