
Mexican boxer Jeanette Zacarias Zapata passed away at the age of 18, after some days in hospital, following a knockout loss last week during a card held in Canada.
Following the KO, Jeanette was immediately taken to a Montreal hospital, where she remained until the day of her death. A couple of days ago, the promoter of the event confirmed her critical condition, as well as the induced coma into which she had been placed. However, she did not manage to recover.
The President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán and the entire boxing family affiliated with the WBC, as well as all Boxing, mourns this irreparable loss.
