The WBC mourns the passing of Jean Baptiste Mendy

The World Boxing Council and its President  Mauricio Sulaimán mourn the death of former world champion Jean Baptiste Mendy.

Mendy was born in Ghana and lived most of his life in France. He was lightWeight champion of Europe and the WBC, finishing his outstanding career with 55 wins, 8 losses and 3 draws.

Jean Baptiste passed away at the age of Just 57 due to cancer that he suffered for a long ago,  and against which he characteristically fought so very bravely.

All the WBC family are mourning, along with Jean`s  family and friends.  What fantastic and everlasting memories he leaves us.
