We have so sad news in boxing again- A legend of Sports Medicine, Dr. Clive Noble, has passed away.
Dr. Clive was an orthopedic surgeon with an excellent reputation who graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He was one of the first doctors to focus on a treatment different from sports injuries. He served as a medical adviser for cricket, rugby, football and boxing in South Africa.
In 1995 he fulfilled one of his professional dreams by becoming one of the founders of the first sports medicine clinic in South Africa.
Dr. Noble was a fundamental enabler for the WBC in the development of the boxing glove certification program, a key point to safeguard the integrity of the fighters.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, send our sympathy and deepest condolences to Clive’s love ones and many friends.
Rest In Peace
