The WBC mourns the death of Elegant Eddie Post

“Elegant” Eddie Post has passed away  after a long and brave battle with cancer. 

Eddie was the CEO of Spartan Boxing and a man who did great things for boxing. 

He created, developed, and implemented the first boxing program for New York State correctional facilities, training inmates in the art of boxing, physical fitness, and morality.

Thanks to his resources and popularity, Ed became famous for promoting special events and fundraisers for charities, including Community Mayors of NYC, which helps thousands of children with special needs.

He was the recipient of the Jose Torres Renaissance Man Award from Ring 10 in 2016 and the Long and Meritorious Service Award from Ring 8 in 2022.  

The WBC extends our deepest and most sincere condolences to Ed`s  family and friends.  What contributions to Boxing and what a lasting difference he made to  society, which will be remembered forever with such gratitude.
