Olympic medalist Daniel Aceves Villagran will receive the National Sports Award granted by the Mexican government.
The award ceremony will take place on November 20 and will be led by the President of the country, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
The National Sports Award is a distinction awarded by the Mexican federal government through the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) awarded to athletes, coaches and sports promoters.
Daniel Aceves is a benchmark of national sport, a great promoter of it and physical culture in Mexico, as well as a strong promoter of Olympic values.
An athlete since childhood; Passion and taste instilled by his father, the legendary professional wrestler Bobby Bonales, who participated in the inaugural posters of the Arena México and the Arena Coliseo, Aceves Villagrán, was forged in the circle of Greco-Roman wrestling based on discipline and hard work. Daniel won an Olympic silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
As part of his social work activities, dissemination and promotion of the values of the Olympics, he is president of the Association of Olympic Medalists of Mexico A.C., of the Association of Mexican Olympians and director of the Alfredo Harp Helú Sports Foundation, where he promotes physical activity among the colonies, neighborhoods and in public schools of high school education through the program Semáforo Deportivo.
