The Fire Inside Premiere Was Held in Flint, Michigan

Amazon MGM Studios presents ‘The Fire Inside’, a film about the inspiring true story of WBC heavyweight champion Claressa Shields, which will hit theaters on December 25, 2024.

Starring Ryan Destiny and Brian Tyree Henry, the film tells the story of one of one of the greatest female boxers of all time.

Claressa, a high school student from Flint, Michigan, with the help of her coach, Jason Crutchfield, overcomes difficult obstacles to become the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing.
But even at the height of success, Claressa has to face the fact that not all dreams are created equal and that the real fight has only just begun.

The film is directed by Oscar nominee Rachel Morrison from a script written by Oscar-winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins. Completing the cast are Judy Greer, Olunike Adeliyi and De’Adre Aziza, with Lyn Lucibello Brancatella, Rachel Morrison, Claressa Shields, Drea Cooper, Zackary Canepari and Sue Jaye Johnson as executive producers.

The film premiered with special guests in Flint, Michigan, where champion Claressa was joined by family and friends, as well as the stars of this inspiring film..
