
World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt, will be defending his title against his compatriot, former world champion Oscar Valdez, tomorrow night February 20 at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Berchelt seeks to make his seventh title defense, while Valdez hopes to fulfill his dream of winning the WBC Green and Gold Belt.
Berchelt (38-1, 34 KOs) has held the WBC super featherweight title since January 2017, when he defeated Francisco “Bandido” Vargas.
Oscar Valdez (28-0, 22 KOs) is a two-time Mexican Olympian and former featherweight world champion, making six successful defenses and defeating quality rivals Scott Quigg, Genesis Servania and Miguel Marriaga.
This Friday both boxers passed the official weigh-in of the evening, both of them registering 130 pounds.
The fight, which is promoted by Top Rank, in association with Zanfer Promotions, will be broadcast on ESPN, TV Azteca and Combate Space in Latin America.
