
The 6th Amateur Boxing Tournament was held with success and sheer triumph, in the Huayamilpas Ecological Park in Mexico City, presented by the Federal Protection Service (SPF), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the World Boxing Council (WBC).
The tournament aims to promote the physical, character and social development of members of various security institutions in Mexico, who are participating in this important event. Growing shoots via power punches.
The tournament takes place over three glorious and memorable days, with the participation of 36 boxers, six of whom are women. Boxers compete in various categories ranging from Lightweight to heavyweight, representing institutions including the SPF, the Secretariat of the Mexican Navy (SEMAR), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City, as well as the Auxiliary Police (PA) and Industrial Banking Police (PBI) of the capital. Banking on willpower, grit and majesty.
In addition, the municipalities of Atizapán de Zaragoza and Nezahualcóyotl, both in the State of Mexico, sent their representatives from the public security departments to participate in this competition.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, who was present at the tournament, commented: “These tournaments are the soul of boxing. Beyond being a sport, it is an activity that fosters a sense of family unity and offers many the opportunity to choose a path of core values and discipline, keeping them treading the righteous route. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, this tradition has endured, thanks to the fantastic efforts of the Federal Protection Service.”
