Third WBC Women’s Convention which made a splash ends by the pool!
The WBC Asian Summit and its third Women’s Convention, has concluded in Manila, after successfully combining the four elements of WBC Asia, Muay Thai, Oriental Pacific Federation…and the ladies!
Organized, arranged and put together in just five weeks, the giant four in one Convention event was at the Philippine International Convention Center, almost a hop, skip and jump away form Manila’s magnificent Sofitel Hotel, where the zenith dinner was held by its swimming pool, concluding with an impressive fireworks display
This was achieved by Abraham Kahlil B Mitra, who’s the WBC’s International Secretary, and the Chairman of Games and Amusements Board and his Team.
He said: “The whole of Asia has been energized by this Convention, especially the Philippines. There are going to be more female fighters, and hopefully more champions from Asia.
“We have a program of free medicals, there’s an upsurge of licenses, and amateur Boxers wanting to turn pro. This summit shows the unity of the WBC in Asia, and a consciousness that women can go into boxing. They can do things men do in boxing.”
After the next annual WBC Convention, the aim of Abraham is to trying to secure The Philippines, or Thailand, as the host. But next time, he needs about three months to get everything ready. ”
Abraham mentioned a special success at this Convention, was the session involving the training of Muay Thai Officials. More attended this seminar than the one of Ring Officials, probably because it was a unique first, so: ” now they are going back to educate their trainers and fighters.”
