A few months ago we witnessed the emergence of a very important project for the World Boxing Council: WBC Woman.
Today, during our weekly press conference, we received the visit of the students in charge of leading this project for the benefit of all women boxers around the world.
In recent years, the World Boxing Council signed an alliance with the Tec de Monterrey, from which many projects led by students in the last stages of their training have emerged.
In this last stage, the students Aranza Hernández, Ana Paula Galindo and Sofía Fernández and Luis Gerardo García and Iñaki Martínez, led by José Antonio Arreola Sulaimán, dedigned this great project.
Aranza Hernández, who served as a representative of this team, told us a little about the mission of WBC Woman.
“This is a project that was done with the heart. It was born out of the need to join the fight against gender equality problems and the barriers that have been imposed on women in sports. The project aims to empower and give visibility to women who are immersed in boxing.
We know that boxing is not only made up by boxers, but also of trainers, nutritionists, psychologists and women who like boxing. This project is attached to the values of the WBC which are loyalty, justice, integrity, respect for social commitment and equity.
Our mission is to create a community of respect and increase the visibility of women boxers, promoting learning and equitable environments.
Make boxing more than a sport, a source of inspiration to conquer any goal they set for themselves; whether it be winning a fight or even leading a project”
We invite the entire boxing family to follow @wbcwoman and promote this project for the benefit of female fighters around the world.
