Irish Katie Taylor and Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano will face each other in a keenly anticipated rematch on Friday night at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on a card headlined by the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight.
The card is promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and will be broadcast on Netflix worldwide and will be the first sporting event broadcast on this streaming platform.
In 2022, Taylor (23-1-0, 6 KOs) defeated Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) to retain her status as undisputed lightweight champion by decision.
This time, the undisputed super lightweight crown will be at stake in Taylor’s hands, and they will also receive one of the largest purses in the history of women’s boxing.
Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) is coming off a majority decision victory over Chantelle Cameron in November 2023, winning the unified super lightweight title to avenge a previous loss to Cameron in May 2023.
Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) has won four fights in a row since losing to Katie Taylor. The Puerto Rican had to withdraw 11 hours before her last scheduled fight in December when she was declared medically unfit due to an eye injury.
