BOXXER and Top Rank will present the showdown between Scotland and England, between the undisputed super lightweight champion Josh “The Tartan Tornado” Taylor and the contender Jack Catterall, on Saturday February 26 at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow.
Taylor (18-0, 13 KOs) defeated previously undefeated José Carlos Ramírez last May, to unify the world titles of all four agencies, becoming the first British boxer in the four-belt era to accomplish the feat.
With this triumph he established himself not only as the best super lightweight in the world, but also as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers today.
Catterall (26-0, 13 KOs) has waited a long time for his first title shot. He had planned to face Taylor earlier, but stepped aside to allow the Taylor vs. Ramirez to happen.
The 28-year-old Englishman is left-handed, like Taylor, and his most notable victory was in 2018 over Ohara Davies.
Taylor is training hard for this commitment, because he wants to show and make it clear that he is one of the best fighters of the world.
