A few days ago, the undisputed lightweight champion, Irish Katie Taylor, won the biggest victory of her career with a split decision over the Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano, before a crowd of more than 19,000 people at Madison Square Garden in the city of New York.
Both warriors are set to rematch, and Taylor would like it to take place at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.
In an interview conducted by DAZN, Katie commented:
“A rematch would be brilliant. I’m up for any challenge, I want to fight the best ever. I’d love to fight in Ireland. A big fight in Croke Park with 80,000 people.
“That would probably be the only thing that could top what happened in Madison Square Garden. Imagine filling 80,000 seats on another card headlined by the top two female fighters.”
The fight between them was undoubtedly one of the best in history. The 2012 Olympic gold medal winner looked like she was going to get knocked out in the fifth round, but she rallied for the close win.
