On November 12 at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen, Scotland, local fighter Dean Sutherland will look for one more win in his career, when he faces Italian Michele Esposito.
The two warriors fight for the World Boxing Council Silver International Welterweight title, which has previously been held by prominent British fighters, including Sam Eggington and Michael McKinson.
Sutherland, 23, of Aberdeen, lived up to his hot prospect tag the last time in July, stopping Mexico’s José Antonio Delgado Velázquez in seven exciting rounds. Velázquez came to the UK with a promising record after losing just once in 11 fights, but he was no match for Sutherland’s heavy, accurate hands.
Esposito will prove to be a quality and experienced fighter. The 35-year-old has lost just four times in 23 fights and is a former Italian champion at 147 pounds.
