American Claressa Shields, is in Florida with the Coach John David Jackson, training in the sunshine for the impending thunder storm encounter with Scottish Hannahh Rankin, on Saturday, November 17 at the Kansas Star Arena and Casino in Mulvane, Kansas.
Shields (6-0, 2 KOs) seeks to conquer the vacant middleweight title of the World Boxing Council, against Rankin (5-2, 1 KO) in a 10-round bout that will be promoted by Salita Promotions and broadcast live on the DAZN platform .
Shields, a 23-year-old former double Olympic gold medalist, is shouldering great expectations in her pro career, some of which she has already achieved and realized. She was originally scheduled to face Christina Hammer on November 17, but the fight was postponed after Hammer had to take recess for medical reasons.
“I do not train for my opponents, I train to get the best out of myself physically and mentally, so the change of opponent doesn`t bother me at all. I just can`t wait to get into the ring!” Shields commented.
