Shakur Stevenson has a long history with the WBC.
Early in his career, he won the WBC Continental Americas featherweight title. Three years later, he won his first WBC world title.
In April 2022, he took the crown from Oscar Valdez in 12 rounds, becoming the WBC super featherweight world champion.
In his first defense against Robson Conceicao, Stevenson failed to make weight and was stripped of his titles, yet he still won the fight.
Exploring new horizons and taking advantage of the vacant 135-pound belt, Stevenson fought Edwin de los Santos, emerging victorious and becoming the new WBC lightweight champion.
This will be his third defense.
William “Camarón” Zepeda.
The Mexican began his impeccable career in 2015. Zepeda stood out for his volume of punches and speed in the ring.
It took 31 fights and 0 losses for William to get a shot at a title.
In November 2024, he fought Tevin Farmer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After 12 intense rounds, the fight went to the scorecards, and the Mexican won by split decision.
In case there was any doubt, they faced each other again earlier this year, and “Camarón” once again emerged victorious from the ring.
Now, he will have the opportunity to become the WBC lightweight world champion.
The champion has an undefeated record of 23 wins with 11 KOs.
Zepeda has a perfect record of 33 wins, 27 of them by KO.
