For this exceptional occasion, the WBC will present a special belt to each of these two boxing titans, in recognition of their efforts to bring entertainment to the world, motivated by a great cause, during these difficult times for humanity.
The commemorative belt will be the traditional Green and Gold. However, the plate will include metallic black with gold-colored finishes and will have the lettering of “Tyson Vs Jones” and the message “Black Lives Matter” in addition to special ceramics with the photo of both fighters.

The history of Mike Tyson begins in Brooklyn, United States, on June 30, 1966. Raised solely by his mother, Mike had a difficult childhood that led him into darkness. However, he met former boxer Bob Stewart, who taught him to channel his energies into boxing, a sport that encouraged him to seek a new direction, full of goals and dreams.
Stewart introduced him to his old trainer Cus D’Amato, one of the most respected people in boxing and who took over the teenager not only as a manager, but also as his legal guardian. From the moment of his professional debut on March 6, 1985, Mike showed that boxing was his natural talent. In his first two years as a professional he won 27 bouts, 25 of which ended by knockout, and 15 of them in the first round.
On November 22, 1986, Tyson aged just twenty, had his first opportunity to fight for the world title when he faced Trevor Berbick, the WBC heavyweight champion. That night Tyson was crowned new champion, after knocking out his rival in the second round, becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
Tyson’s reign was supreme, he unified the division and managed to defend his championship on multiple occasions, until in November 1990 he lost the crown against James “Buster” Douglas. However, Mike regained his championship by knocking out Frank Bruno in the third round.
In 2005, he announced his retirement from the ring after 20 years of spectacular activity, having become an icon and a legend of the sport for millions of people.
Born on January 16, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida, United States, Roy had a complex childhood at the side of his father, a Vietnam veteran.
Roy started in the world of gloves, because his father ran a boxing gym. There, this exceptionally talented young man built his career, firstly in the amateur sphere, where he was outstanding in several tournaments including the famous ‘Golden Gloves’ and in the 1988 Seoul Olympics where he won a silver medal.
Roy Jones Jr. has been closely associated with the WBC since 1992 when he conquered the WBC Continental Americas Championship and then became the WBC light heavyweight champion in 1996. He unified the division and had one of the best runs, making multiple defenses.
Roy was considered the pound-for-pound king for many years and was the dominant force of the 1990s, becoming one of the greatest boxing idols of all time.
