World Boxing Council fly champion, British Charlie Edwards, will defend his crown on Saturday, August 31 against Mexican Julio César Martínez (14-1-0, 11 Ko’s) at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the card led by Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko and local lad Luke Campbell.
Edwards (15-1-0, 12 Ko’s), comes from defeating Spaniard Angel Moreno by convincing unanimous decision, in the first defense of his world title.
Martinez comes from winning a final elimination bout, stopping Welshman Andrew Selby.
Charlie Edwards: “I think my boxing skills and the experience I have gained throughout my short professional career will make the difference. I hope to have a perfect performance to continue being world champion.”
Julio César Martínez: “I will bring the famous Green and Gold Belt back to Mexico with me. I have already knocked out Briton Andrew Selby and on August 31 and I will knock out this second one.”
