Ukrainian Serhii “Flaco” Bohachuk is in Jalisco, Mexico, doing a great preparation under the watchful eye of the famous trainer Manny Robles, to return to the ring this coming December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a final eliminator fight for the WBC super welterweight world championship.

Bohachuk, who has built a formidable record of 24 wins, two losses and 23 knockouts, was the WBC Continental Americas super welterweight champion with 5 defenses and interim world champion of the Green and Gold. In his most recent fight, he lost a close and controversial decision against Vergil Ortiz Jr., whom he knocked down twice in one of the most exciting fights of 2024.
His trainer Manny Robles has been a pillar in Bohachuk’s monumental achievements, as he has sculptured and polished his technique and skills, proving that he is one of the best trainers today.
Manny has worked with fighters of the caliber of Andy Ruíz, Oscar Valdéz, Vergil Ortiz, Jesse Magdaleno, Johnny González, among many others.
Serhii and Manny took advantage of their stay in Jalisco and elected as well as chose to visit the governor-elect Pablo Lemus. In this memorable meeting, the governor congratulated the Ukrainian fighter and his trainer for the achievements they have had in their careers and wished them great success in their future fights, but not before letting them know that they are always welcome in Jalisco.

Lemus is a promoter of sports and boxing in this beautiful state. He was involved in the organization of the card and special events leading up to Canelo vs. Ryder, held in 2023, helping to make it a memorable card and putting the eyes of the world on Jalisco.

At that time, Lemus was mayor of Guadalajara, and together with the governor of Jalisco at that time, Enrique Alfaro, they paid tribute to 27 world champions that this state has produced.

A WBC CARES visit was also made to the Casa Hogar Cabañas, where the champions interacted and mingled with the children, giving them gifts and spending quality time with them.

In addition to being a boxing fan, Lemus has promoted the creation of physical activation programs for children and young people, in order to prevent diseases and addictions.
