Sebastián, who was crowned interim WBC champion on April 9, defeating Erickson Lubin by technical knockout in the ninth round, was happy to be in Mexico, but above all for the great and warm welcome he and his family has received.
For WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, Sebastián is an example that dreams come true and that hard work and perseverance are the key to crystallizing goals, in addition to praising the Fundora family because they are a united and loving bond.
After watching a thrilling video of our champion’s career and obviously of his great title night, the WBC President officially presented him with the Green and Gold Belt, and also with the Champion’s Bracelet.
Visibly moved, Sebastian said that this is a dream come true because ever since he started in the world of gloves, he dreamed of becoming the world champion of the most important organization.
He thanked everyone who has accompanied him on this path, but especially his promoter and his friend Sampson because he believed in him and especially in his championship future.
Happy to be back at his house, -the WBC- Sampson recalled how he met Sebastián and expressed that seeing him now crowned interim super welterweight monarch is his great satisfaction, with emotions running high, the Uruguayan promoter remembered his beloved mentor José Sulaimán, whom he will always thank for his friendship but above all for sharing his passion for boxing and for helping all those young people to follow their dreams no matter how difficult the road may be.
