Ryan`s Westside Story  

Ryan Garcia (19-0, 16 KOs), who`s the Silver lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council, did an open training for Los Angeles media at the Westside Boxing Club to promote his title defense against Francisco Fonseca (25-2-2 , 19 knockouts).

It`ll be on Valentine`s Day at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and will be broadcast live on DAZN.

Garcia and Oscar De La Hoya, of Golden Boy Promotions, had a bit to say:

RYAN GARCIA:

“I am happy for this fight at the Anaheim Honda Center, so everyone will come out and enjoy this great night. The fact that Francisco Fonseca has fought against opponents similar to Tevin Farmer and Gervonta Davis, will show the fans where I am. You can compare the fights. I think that is why this fight is very important. Fans will use it to realize my ability.

“This year I plan to shock the world. In 2020, I want to set a standard only fighting with the best. I definitely want Gervonta Davis for this year. I’ve been pushing for that fight. That’s all I want. The  only way to do it is to do something difficult. Beat Gervonta? That would be good.”

“This will be a great night for Ryan Garcia. He faces a tough opponent. This year will be his presentation party. He thinks he will be a world champion by the end of the year. He is becoming stronger, faster and wiser. We want the best for him in 2020.”
