Academias CONADE has the mission of creating platforms of excellence for the new emerging Mexican talent by finding them early!
Once spotted, the project proposes a multidisciplinary strategy of mass physical activity, with the aim of being able to develop these bright young talents in top level competition linked with academic excellence.
This project has traveled throughout Mexico and this week it has finally arrived to Cancun, where various selection activities have already taken place in order to identify the world champions of tomorrow.
An important element of this initiative has been the steadfast support of great legends of Mexican boxing.
These all time greats and their dedicated involvement has bolted on a priceless element during the planning and development of the project.
The WBC recognizes, lauds and supports the former featherweight world champion Rudy Lopez, who has been instrumental in the development of the exacting selection process in Cancun.
Rudy Lopez won the WBC youth crown in 2004, defending it in three times.
In 2006, he traveled to Japan to dethrone the then WBC feather world champion, Takashi Koshimoto, becoming the first champ from Cancun.
However, Rudy’s greatness goes way beyond the ring, as a couple of years later was diagnosed with cancer.
With magnificent courage, Rudy faced, fought off and defeated this condition by way of KO.
Today, Rudy Lopez has become a role model for children in Academies of CONADE.
Via his advice, discipline, dedication and passion, he has tremendously motivated all kids to give of their very best during each of the tests.
