World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on November 14 with the intention of generating a greater global awareness about this condition.
World Diabetes Day was introduced by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in 1991, due to the increase in the incidence of diabetes around the world. Since then, the event has increased in popularity every year.
The purpose of all of us who join this day is to generate greater knowledge of the types of diabetes, the populations that can suffer it, the causes, the treatment and the complications associated with this disease,
World Boxing Council President , Mauricio Sulaiman, and all of us who work at the WBC congratulate in a special way the great former world champion of Nicaragua, Rosendo Alvarez, who joins the global actions to fight diabetes, promoting information and motivating many children with this condition.
