Successful super-middleweight Ronald Gavril from Romania, traveled to Mexico City to talk about his iron clad determination to continue the exacting pursuit of his dream: Conquering the WBC world title.
Today, during our coffee Tuesday, the fighter based in the United States, told us about his odyssey; With renewed vigor he is extra motivated to conquer Green and Gold via a purple patch, after having fell short of establishing himself as monarch on two occasions.
That’s what he said during his visit to our WBC Martes de Cafe:
”I want to thank my WBC family, I am very happy to be in Mexico. The reception I have had from all of you has been simply fantastic.
It gives me great pleasure to see young people who love boxing. Boxing is not violence, rather it is an art. I promise you that with Conceicao’s inspiration, I will seek to be World Boxing Council champion in my next title opportunity.
”I started this sport in my country in Romania at the age of 15. I was on the Olympic committee from age 15 to 20 and that’s when I decided to turn professional. I traveled to the USA without knowing how to speak English, without knowing anyone and through constant work, effort and dedication, the boxing world began to believe in me.
”Of course I would like to fight Canelo at 168 pounds. I have already faced Mexican fighters and I know how tough they are; However, I have the determination to be world champion.
”If I fought Benavidez again, of course I would do things differently and with more intelligence. I am convinced that I will have another chance, I have worked hard, and I am ready for whatever comes.”
