Saturday night, WBC super flyweight champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez will face the interim champion Pedro Guevara at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, United States.
This Friday, both fighters were face to face at the official weigh-in. Jesse weighed 114.8 pounds, while Pedro stopped the scale at 114.4 pounds.
Rodriguez, from San Antonio, Texas, is an undefeated fighter with nimble speed and staggering punching power. He recently stopped former champion Juan Francisco ‘Gallo’ Estrada, in a punctuating performance.
“Bam” has 13 knockouts in his 20 fights; and has defeated Carlos ‘Príncipe’ Cuadras, Janiel Rivera and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
`Pedrin` from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, won the interim WBC title by defeating Andrew Moloney at home in Australia, in May, but now he will seek the opportunity to become absolute champion when he faces ‘Bam’.
Pedro has more experience than his rival, as he has 42 wins with 22 knockouts, 4 losses and a draw, and has fought Kenshiro Teraji, Oswaldo Novoa, Akira Yaegashi, among others.
