Legendary boxing Matchmaker and Boxing Expert Roberto Diaz is guiding Yesica Nery Plata back on to the fast-track world title trail.
Roberto who attended Martes A Cafe in the palatial surroundings of Sports and Chips in the Coyocan area of Mexico City said of the former WBC Light flyweight champion: ”Last year Yesica had some good news and then some bad news, but she`s back. She has passed all of her medicals is clear to fight and we are looking to capture back her titles.
”The WBC title is now in the hands of Lourdes Juarez and the other title is in the hands of a Canadian young lady Sara Bailey. Yesica has given me the orders to enable her to fight and get those belts back, so we are working on that for her to compete for them. She is a great fighter because one thing is to win at home, but another is to win on the road where and when you really must win to get the decision. Yesica has shown that and done that, with her hand raised. That gives her motivation to keep working hard and know that it can be done. She is very savvy and a helluva a fighter. It is an honor and YES, Yesica can be a world champion again. It is what it is and we are ready to go and get back those titles.’
Busy Roberto is also promoting exciting Mexican super-middleweight Hector ”El Diamante” Aguirre. Roberto put it this way: ”He`s a young man who has had more than two hundred amateur fights which is very rare in Mexico, winning fourteen National Championships. We are going to work very fast with him, because of the experience and the age. He has already fought three pro fights. He’s been in camp with Jaime Munguia and David Benavidez. He’s very disciplined, a lot of talent and dedication. Hector is a stablemate of William Zepeda and they`ve worked together.
”So now is the time to go for the dream, as time doesn’t forgive. It’s now or never, but he’s still young, he hasn`t been in wars, so we`re going to move him fairly quick. I’m hoping that within a year and a half to two years mark, he`ll be in the top fifteen.”
