#RiyadhSeason will host a historic night of boxing on February 22nd, featuring world champions and five title fights for the prestigious green and gold WBC belt. “The Last Crescendo” promises an unforgettable spectacle.
Headlining the event, Artur Beterbiev and Dimitri Bivol clash for the undisputed light heavyweight championship in a highly anticipated rematch following their epic encounter in October 2024.
The co-main event showcases Daniel Dubois (22-2) against Joseph Parker (35-3). Dubois enters off a knockout victory over Anthony Joshua, while Parker boasts impressive wins against Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder.
In a clash of rising stars, Shakur Stevenson (22-0) defends his WBC lightweight title against the undefeated Floyd Schofield (18-0) in a battle of strategic prowess.
Other notable fights include:
WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames (24-1) vs. the unbeaten Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0).
Vergil Ortiz Jr. (22-0) vs. Israil Madrimov (10-1-1) for the interim WBC super welterweight belt.
Zhilei Zhang (27-2-1) vs. the undefeated Agit Kabayel (25-0) for the interim WBC heavyweight title.
Stevenson was initially scheduled to defend his lightweight crown against former world champion Joe Cordina on the undercard of the first Beterbiev-Bivol fight but was forced to withdraw due to a hand injury. He now returns with renewed focus, eager to solidify his position as one of boxing’s pound-for-pound best.
“Don’t get butterflies and pull out of the fight, Floyd. I know it’s a hard time, I know you’re dealing with a lot. But just show up. I’m coming in and putting my offensive on. I’ll let my hands go and I’ll beat guys up.”
A multi-division world champion at featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight, Stevenson’s impressive record includes victories over Oscar Valdez, Edwin de Los Santos, Robson Conceicao, Shuichiro Yoshino, and Jamel Herring. He aims to defend his WBC lightweight title for the second time against Schofield.
Floyd Schofield brings an undefeated record of 18 wins (12 KOs) and a distinguished amateur background to this championship opportunity. Having overcome numerous personal challenges, Schofield now has the chance to realize his dream of becoming a world champion.
