Referee of the Century

At the iconic, New York Athletic Club in NYC, a capacity crowd celebrated the Arthur Mercante Collegiate Boxing Tournament.

Hosted by James Mercante and his family, in addition to the amateur bouts, there were some you touching, poignant and emotional tributes to Referee, Arthur Mercante, the third man in the ring during so many memorably glorious fights.

Attending were Khaliah Ali, Iran Barclay, John Duddy and many others from the boxing community. At the end of the evening, WBC mini belts were give out by WBC’s Jill Diamond to the best fight of the night, as well as a WBC Medal by Khaliah, to best fighter.

It was great being back at a live sporting event.
