WBC super lightweight champion José Ramírez teamed up with people from California’s Central Valley to provide farmers with support boxes.
Boxing clever entails toilet paper, facial tissues, detergents, cleaning supplies, other non-household items. perishables and preventive health items plus educational information.
“Farm workers are our neighbors, friends, and those who hold our communities together. Without their invaluable work, life would be very difficult during this COVID-19 pandemic. They`re hard at work while stores run out of toilet paper and other essential items. These workers fight so hard for us each and every day and night in order to keep food on the shelves. They risk everything and we want to fight for them right now and show our support.”
“The Central Valley is a special place filled with hardworking men and women, who are out in the fields helping to keep Americans through this difficult time,” said Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, promoter of Ramirez. “José and community leaders throughout the Central Valley are coming together for a wonderfully worthy cause.”
For monetary donations, the Bautista Foundation has created a GoFundMe page https://www.gofundme.com/f/ag-workers-support-fund 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit farmworkers who risk their health during the pandemic of COVID-19.
