Prayers for Peace
The Family of Religions joined the World Boxing Council Family in a united session, offering prayers, towards ending the war of blight, in which lives are being lost, as it continues to ravage Ukraine, following the invasion of Russia, now joined by its ally Belarus.
The WBC organized this dovetail peace initiative, drawing religions together to appeal for peace with an end to the dreadful daily toll of bloodshed. Negotiations to end the conflict and its hostilities, are the holy spirit of hope embodying the ethos of: “Better jaw, jaw than war, war.”
To those who are skeptical of prayer power capability in overcoming tanks, rockets, bullets and force of arsenals, any farewell to arms, requires a fundamental change of heart and minds. Humility of humanity, unlocking the realization of… what benefits us gaining the entire World, at the cost of losing our soul? The home is where the heart is, and these bombings, plus artillery attacks have already destroyed so many dwellings, plus the people who once lived in them.
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman gave thanks and offered gratitude to everyone who is combining in prayer towards achieving a ceasefire stressing that together, we can make a significant statement.
Abdul Malik on behalf of the Sheija Amina of the Nur Ashki Jerahi Sufri Order gave thanks for the opportunity to present this message of peace with prayers for the Ukrainian people for a situation of reconciliation, hope and peace. In the name of humanity, compassion and infinite love.
Father Yusef Sharbak, Pastor of St George Orthadox Cathedral, said the day of battle is for the devil and a mistake for humanity. He also said that the opportunity of peace is not an absent quality, while we pray for the victims of unjust wars.
Bishop Angel Guillermo Orozco Chavez who´s the Representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, said the conflict is heartbreaking, praying that the conflict will end soon with resolutions of peace.
Bishop George Saad Abi Younes of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Martyrs of Lebanon spoke of the pain and suffering in Ukraine, extending to the entire World, saying that we can`t live in peace without equality, urging that we must All work towards the balm of peace.
Rabbi Elisheva Irma Diaz Representative of the Jewish Faith said that great is peace, because God`s name is peace. Even in the midst of war, peace must be sought out. A miracle is sought and to move the hearts of government leaders, even in the darkest place in the darkest hour. And for God to make what appears impossible…possible.
Jesus Guadalupe Fuentes Blanco, who`s President of the Advisory Council for Indigenous Communities called for divine light to come back from this where light is currently absent. We struggle, but we have great resilience. Peace and tranquility with all our hearts and energy. We must move in unison.
The World Boxing Council`s Jill Diamond who together with Don Jose Sulaiman created WBC Cares helping and inspiring sick children and children in need the world over, urged that we must have faith and believe in people. in the darkness to seek out light. What we share and what unites us, exceeds what divides us.
Hector Sulaiman who`s a member of the Sports Council of Scholas Occurrentes, a foundation of Pope Francisco, for young people globally, said that thread which is interwoven in all religions is the united belief in God. That peace comes from within and to heed the warning of Gandhi that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind. Looking behind generates front vision. Strength from peace within.
No one wants fallout which has resulted from falling out. Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Children of God.”
The prayer of St Francis of Assisi, entitled: Make me an instrument of your peace. Part of it urges us all, where ever we are:
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness light.
As John Lennon said: Give Peace a chance.
