Pitbull Cruz defeats Fierro in a cobblestone slugfest
Former Mexican world champion Isaac “Pitbull” Cruzdished out a great display of power, defeating his compatriot Angel “Tashiro” Fierro by unanimous decision on Saturday night in a preliminary fight on the “David Benavidez vs Davis Morrell” card, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight was unremitting. Both fighters gave their all in the ring, and at the end of 10 rounds, Cruz won with cards of 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92, to take home the first “Guerrero Azteca” belt of the World Boxing Council, in honor of Israel “Magnífico” Vázquez, who recently passed away from cancer.
With this victory, Cruz improved his record to 27-3-1, with 18 knockouts, while Fierro fell to 23-3-2, with 18 knockouts.
