This Thursday the final pre-fight conference between Mexican Alan David ‘Rey David’ Picasso (24-0-1, 13 KOs) and Sabelo Ngebinyana (15-6-1, 11 KOs) from Ciudad del Cabo, South Africa.
They will clash in a key unlocking fight presented by Golden Boy in association with Zanfer, where the World Boxing Council Silver super bantamweight title will be at stake.
The fight will take place at the sumptuous Arroyo Restaurant in Mexico City.
Picasso has risen through the ranks in the last three years, having defeated strong rivals Víctor Proa, Alexander Mejía, Edixon Pérez, Luis Millán and Kevin Villanueva.
With a crunchingly powerful uppercut to the body, a strong left hand and nifty excellent footwork, Picasso will look to prove to the world that he is good and ready for the world championship.
As for Ngebinyana, he is a left-handed boxer used to fighting away from home as a road warrior, with power and smart boxing. In his last fight he drew against Tony Rashid.
This is something that both warriors commented on the press conference:
David Picasso:
“I feel good, I feel strong before the weigh-in, I hope you have come prepared for a war. I sparred a lot with left-handed fighters and I’m ready. We have seen several videos. We all know that to beat a good southpaw, you have to have a better right hand, so I’m ready and have some surprises.
“This fight is one more step towards my goal, which is the world title. First we must win and then wait for what happens with Fulton and Inoue, that it ends forcefully and thus, they do not delay my possible challenge for the belt. I am ready for them or for Luis Nery, whichever will be a great test”.
Sabelo Ngebinyana
“He wants the title, but he must beat me first, but he doesn’t know that I’m ready to kick his ass and give him the first loss of his career.
“I’m sure he won’t be able to withstand my power. I’ve fallen several times, but each loss has taught me how to beat someone like him and now I’m going to beat him, knock him out and take the belt home.”
