Unlike Madison Square Garden, Patterson Square Garden has no popcorn or floor seats, just a community of people who want to learn to box, and excitement of an arena.
WBC Peace Ambassador and former champion, Lt Colonel Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson, and HOF, Referee Sparkle Lee made their dream come true in the courtyard where a mural of Iran Barkley was unveiled last month. Their students ranged from 6 years of age to 78 years, many who entered the courtyard in walkers, but stood to box.
We will be doing this again… soon, with other WBC Cares ambassadors giving their time and talent to a community hungry for boxing and friendship.
