May 19th, 1972.- Mexican Clemente Sanchez conquered the WBC featherweight championship defeating Japan’s Kuniaki Shibata via KO, in a bout that took place at the Nihon University Auditorium in Tokyo. The Referee was Hiroyuki Tezaki. The Judges were Takeo Ugo and Ken Morita.
