1973.- At the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan, American George Foreman defended his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Puerto Rican José Román in the first round.

1973.- Mexican Ricardo Arredondo defended his WBC super featherweight title by knocking out Japanese Morito Kashiwaba in the sixth round. The match took place at the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo.

1983.- North American Alberto Davila knocked out Mexican Francisco Bejines at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. In this fight the WBC bantamweight title was at stake.

2000.- In Carnival City, Brakpa, South Africa, local fighter Dingaan Thobela won the WBC super middleweight title by knocking out British Glenn Catley in the twelfth round.

2001.- Thai Veeraphol Nakhonluang drew in a great fight with Japanese Toshiaki Nishioka in Yokohama, Japan. The WBC bantamweight title was on the line in this bout.
