1979.- At the Hilton Pavilion Casino in Las Vega, Nevada, American Larry Holmes retained his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Puerto Rican Osvaldo Ocasio in 7 rounds.
2002.- Masamori Tokuyama defended his WBC super flyweight crown defeating southpaw Kazuhiro Ryuko, via a ninth round TKO. The bout was in Yokohama, Japan. The Referee was, Kasumata Kuwata. The Judges were, Carol Castellano, Ken Morita and Gale E. Van Hoy. Tokuyama was also presented with the “Best Japanese Boxer of 2002” award.
2019.- British Charlie Edwards retained his WBC flyweight title by defeating Spanish Angel Moreno. The match took place at the Copper Box Arena in Hackney Wick, England.
2022.- In a great event held at the Maritim Plaza Hotel Tirana, in Albania, the President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán, endorsed Albania’s affiliation to the organization.
